Eclipsestorm walked out of the den, giving a big yawn and stretching his legs. Today was going to be the first day of training his new apprentice, which happened to be his first apprentice. Needless to say, the dark pelted warrior was looking forward to it. He didn't care whether she would be the best apprentice or the worst. He was just excited at the prospect of having a young warrior to train. So he waited patiently, lost in his thoughts, for his apprentice to come meet him as he told her the previous night.

| one day, when the pain is gone she will finally know |
The sun was just rising in the sky, coloring the horizon in its pinks and oranges. A small femme twitched in her sleep, then blinked open her eyes. She had just been stalking a mouse. Mistpaw had been only a second away from leaping at it, but the mouse had vanished. Replaced by the darkness of the apprentice's den. "Training!" she thought happily to herself. Today would be the first day out with her mentor, Eclipsestorm. "I wonder what we'll do today..." she thought.
Slowly, she rose and padded out of the den. Once out of the cramped area, Mistpaw stretched out her limbs properly. Much better. She purred with satisfaction, then shivered. As it was only new-leaf, the temperature still bit you in the morning. She'd get used to it though. Looking around the clearing, she spotted her dark mentor. As she padded over to him, the familiar shyness that bothered her throughout her life came back. But at least, over time, that would clear up towards him. But for now, she knew she had to work on trusting him. "Hello," she mewed quietly, dipping her head to him.

Eclipsestorm pricked his ears when he heard the young cat greet him. He turned to face the she-cat apprentice, smiling at her. "Hello there. I hope you're ready for your warrior training. First, I'll teach you how to hunt." Eclipsestorm dropped down and balanced out his weight, keeping his paws light on the ground. He stalked the invisible mouse, showing Muistpaw how the tail should be held high in order to avoid noise or it becoming entangled in some brush. When he was down, he hopped up and looked at the young she-cat. "See if you can do that. It's okay if you have trouble since this is your first attempt."
